"I blog therefore I am"
"Blogging is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go." (adapted from E L Doctorow)
That's for sure - and sometimes it takes awhile to learn what you want! I've just spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to copy the image of an elephant that goes with this saying and I'm stumped. The page to link to is: http://www.beewebhead.net/Evo05/week1.htm
I love the idea and all the possibilities I can see for using blogs with my students, but the bane of my life is trying to incorporate images.
I tried using Blogger's Picasa/Hello program to upload some photographs of where I live, but never got it to work. Susanne and others have told me that I need to upload them onto a webpage, and then just link to them, but that's not as easy as it sounds - at least not in my experience.
I uploaded photos to a Geocities page but could only look at one of them because Geocities then told me I'd used up all my free space. So, as far as pictures go, I'm still at the "nothing" stage.
Now that my students have blogs, a couple have asked the inevitable question: "How can I upload my pictures?"
The computer savvy student tried Picasa/Hello but says it didn't work for him either. This is something I need to learn!

It works GREAT
I was going to comment that I had the same problem, but then I read Nathan's comment and decided to try flickr. He was right! It works great!
I was able to use Hello/Picasa to upload photos to the body of my blog, but I didn't want them there. I never figured out how to get them into my profile using Hello. Flickr, though, made it easy!
Dear Wendy,
I see now that you did manage to get your Flickr image show up here. I was wondering if your geocities image was a large image file, since you apparently ran out of free bandwidth that fast?
yours, Sus
